Following a successful first edition in 2025, the National Congress on Prevention & Health will return on Monday 27 September 2027 at Congress Centre 1931 in ’s-Hertogenbosch.

Under the theme “Creating space for health, shaping the future”, the 2027 edition will focus on two major topics: commercial determinants of health and healthy living environments.

Commercial interests increasingly influence the choices people make and the environments in which they live. From vaping and fast food to alcohol, tensions between commercial interests and public health are becoming more visible. The congress will explore how industry, policy and lobbying shape health, and what this means for professionals working to improve public health.

The second theme focuses on the built, green and social environment as an important determinant of health and health inequalities. How can health be given greater priority in spatial planning and decision-making? Why do residents sometimes resist interventions intended to improve their living environment, and what approaches could work better?

The programme is currently being developed, with partners, speakers and sponsors being invited to contribute.
