The institute for Preventive Health (i4PH), part of the EWUU alliance, is dedicated to fostering a dynamic and interconnected community. Our mission is clear: to drive groundbreaking research by cultivating meaningful partnerships that transcend institutional boundaries. We recognise the importance of nurturing connections across diverse preventive health communities. Therefore, we host Community Get-Togethers, bringing together researchers from all EWUU partners for insightful sessions and vibrant exchanges!
On April 8th we invite you to join us for a Get-Together at TU/e, which we organise together with the EAISI Health Commuity. Please find the registration below.

The get-together focusses on complementary research about innovative solutions for aging populations. This event will feature distinguished presenters from Eindhoven University of Technology TU/e, Utrecht University UU and a special guest speaker from Technical University of Denmark DTU.
The speakers are at the forefront of research and development in smart living environments, smart homes, AI-driven and digital twin technologies enabling more effective, accessible, and engaging home-based care solutions for aging populations.

15:00 – 16:00 – Complementary Research TU/e and UU – Health @ Home
At the institute 4 Preventive Health we conduct research about healthy elderly in our Health@Home research line. You’ll hear from two of our researchers about their complementary research:
Susan van Hees: Enabling and disabling relations between values and technologies
Susan is Assistant Professor in Innovation Studies, Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, Utrecht University (UU)
Masi Mohammadi: Empathic Environments: Integrating Smart Technologies for Aging Populations
Masi is Full Professor of Smart Architectural Technologies, Department of the Built Environment, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e)
16:00 – 16:30 – Interactive Networking Exercise
Let’s get to know each other better. What are your thoughts on using smart technology to enable new care solutions for aging populations?
16:30 – 17:00 – Special Guest Talk by John Paulin Hansen: Ai Driven Digital Twins for at-home rehabilitation
Enhancing Personalized Care for an Aging Population
As the global population ages, the demand for effective, personalized rehabilitation solutions grows. This talk explores how AI-driven digital twins—powered by sensor-based tracking, conversational agents, and adaptive algorithms—can advance at-home rehabilitation for elderly individuals. By integrating smart glasses with gaze tracking, activity monitoring, and exoskeleton-assisted movement, we can create immersive and adaptive rehabilitation experiences tailored to individual needs.
John is Professor in the Innovation Division, Department of Technology, Management and Economics, Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
For who is this event?
This event is open for all EWUU researchers and companies who are eager to explore cutting-edge technologies and their applications in improving the quality of life for elderly citizens.
We look forward to your participation and the stimulating discussions that will follow.
The event will be hybrid (of course with limitations for the online participants to join the networking drinks 😊)
