The challenges facing our society — such as the rise of chronic diseases and the growing pressure on healthcare personnel — call for new connections and collective action. Only together can we build a stronger, fairer, and more empathetic system of preventive health.
Connecting Knowledge, Practice and Perspectives
Over the past period, i4PH has investigated the key factors that determine successful transitions in preventive health. Too often, promising solutions remain stuck at the stage of ideas or pilots. During this workshop, building on your insights and our preliminary research, we aim to explore desirable and necessary directions for future transitions and the experiments and diverse innovations -technological, social, institutional- most likely to assist in steering preventive health towards these directions. By connecting knowledge, practice, and perspectives, we can discover what future we want to contribute to and the concrete measures that can help bring it about.
The workshop is structured in two parts: a creative expert dialogue, which will be followed by hands-on co-creative work.
Part 1 Creative Expert Dialogue
If you have ever wondered how experts think about the future when they give free rein to their imagination, the expert panel discussion kicking off this workshop will provide you with an answer! Four leading experts will combine extensive knowledge, practical experience, hope, and phantasy, to share their future visions about preventive health in the Netherlands in a creative way.
During their exchange, we will come to know the ideal answers they envisage to questions such as: What preventive health needs will different groups experience in the future? What actors will cater to these needs and how? Could local pharmacies, post offices, or parks become the sites where tailored preventive health information will be made available?
Part 2 Co-creation workshop
This exciting, inspiring exchange will be followed by hands-on group work. All participants will be invited to
- Develop future scenarios on how to upscale or broadly diffuse novel, ground-breaking ways of organizing and providing preventive health in the Netherlands that are deemed necessary and desirable;
- Identify barriers and opportunities to the realization of these scenarios;
- Specify the resources needed to realize these scenarios.
