During the National Prevention & Health Congress, the Institute for Preventive Health (i4PH), together with the Federatie voor Gezondheid, had the pleasure of hosting an interactive breakout session titled “Unfolding the Prevention Transition: Join In!”

With over 60 enthusiastic participants, we delved into what it means to truly shape the transition towards preventive health. The session explored both the individual and the collective roles in this shift, inviting participants to reflect on how personal actions, professional collaborations, and systemic changes intertwine to build a healthier future.

A key part of our session was the introduction of the Empathy Map method, developed by the Centre for Unusual Collaborations (CUCo). This creative tool helped participants exchange knowledge and perspectives from their diverse disciplines and backgrounds, fostering mutual understanding and new insights. By mapping out what different stakeholders see, hear, think, and feel, the Empathy Map opened space for a more human-centered and inclusive approach to prevention.

It was truly inspiring to see such energy, openness, and collaboration in the room. Together, we are taking meaningful steps toward a more connected and preventive health ecosystem — one that values empathy, shared learning, and collective action.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined and contributed their ideas and experiences. We look forward to continuing this journey together!
